But like any electronics, all have common care needs to keep them in good condition and to avoid inadvertent mishaps.

A cycle computer’s of no use unless you can see the display, and the display’s of no use if it’s covered in mud (especially important in the off-road models.) But how to clean it? Stick to cloth and water. Whether you are cleaning the computer itself, the bracket, or the sensor, do not use chemical solvents or alcohol. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight; if you leave the computer on the bicycle itself, store the bike out of the sun. Alternately, remove the computer and store it separately.

Even though it’s designed for a pretty bumpy ride, you don’t want to jostle or drop a cycle computer. Otherwise, never try to disassemble the cycle computer, unless you are prepared to buy a new one.
